Opening of the 'World's Restaurants' complex by the Louvre

The large shopping center that is next to the	Louvre Palace in Paris includes a rich choice	of interesting ethnic restaurants

December 2009: French DMC Alcep Travel & Events was appointed by a major Italian company and the world’s leading provider of food & beverage and retail services for travellers to handle the opening of the 'World's Restaurant' complex at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris. This is the large shopping center located in the Louvre Palace next to the famous museum and is situated just below the celebrated glass pyramid.

Background

This Italian company was appointed by the management of Carrousel du Louvre to install one of the largest multi-restaurant complexes in all of France. The project comprised setting up around 2000 sq.m of restaurant space, with 10 different counters of different ethnic foods and 400 dishes. The company had already undertaken similar projects for the Empire State Building in New York, the Space Center in Houston, the Via del Corso in Rome and the Piazza Duomo in Milan. For this client Alcep's Conference Management experts were invited to organize two key events.

Press Conference

The first event was to make all arrangements for a Press Conference, attended by many journalists, the company's President and a key Italian political figure. We booked the Grand Hotel Intercontinental in Paris and made all conference and refreshment arrangements. We also advised our client about all aspects of this event.

Board Meeting

In addition, Alcep was appointed to organize the company's Board of Directors meeting, also located at the same hotel on the day that followed the Press Conference. We prepared all the necessary technical material necessary and responded to the many last-minute requests that presented themselves.

In summary

The two events progressed smoothly and without any hitch. The press responded with good coverage about this major event in the Louvre's calendar and our world-class client was impressed that his business arrangements in France were conducted by an Events Management expert of similar caliber.
