March 2010: Each of the top 220 sellers for the world's leading direct sales jewelry party plan company were rewarded with an all expenses-paid overseas trip for two to Paris. Alcep's role as a French expert in Events Management was to keep them on a 'high' during their first-ever visit to Romantic Paris.
Background
This American direct sales company expects a lot from its staff but also gives plenty. Sales people who meet goals and recruiting targets are rewarded by being sent to exotic or historic locations like Cancun, Hawaii, Rome, Alaska, Athens, Atlantis, Puerto Vallarta, and many more. This year the company selected Paris as its destination and invited French DMC Alcep Travel & Events to start work in June 2009.
Being responsive
We had a dual role: to gain the greatest benefits of long-term planning (excellent deals for hotels, restaurants etc) and to be very responsive in the short-term. The lists of winners were made available to us only a few days before the travel time, so we had to be quick about making transfer arrangements. Since half of the group was Spanish-speaking, we ensured that all the hostesses were tri-lingual (French, English, and Spanish).
Memorable trips
For most of the guests, this was their first visit to Paris. As an experienced events management company in France, we are used to hosting people who know our capital city well. So to make arrangements for first-time visitors was a special treat! We took them on a day-long tour of the city, which included a private boat river cruise on the Seine. We also booked optional tours for them to places like the Palace of Versailles and the Louvre (also to external sites like the Beaches of Normandy).
The essential
Perhaps our most valuable contribution was being able to help this group of 220 visitors to gain the most from their 6-day visit to Paris. We gave constant advice at our Hospitality Desk, handling out maps and advising each small band of visitors how to make the most of the city in their individual way.
In summary
Our ability as a seasoned Destination Management Company to help our guests fully enjoy their stay in France was repaid by the many words of appreciation we received at the end.
